People with Disabilities and
Friends of the Five Continents
A brighter world is one in which the work of disabled artists is celebrated.
The “People with Disabilities and Friends of the Five Continents” association supports an environment in which disabled artists within our organisation can share and engage in activities.
The association supports the growth of artists with disabilities through the ArtPara project, striving to create a society in which people with disabilities participate in social activities and enjoy equal rights and well-being with non-disabled people.

Introduction
The “People with Disabilities and Friends of the Five Continents” association organises an annual itinerant international exhibitions of artworks created by artists with disabilities from different countries. Our itinerant exhibition is called ArtPara. The project was conceived by Korean artist Kim Geun-Tae, founder of the association, with the aim of developing the artistic potential of people with disabilities through culture and art.
The ArtPara exhibition, conceived as a kind of cultural Olympiad, consists of around 100 works by disabled artists from 30 different countries. The project is funded by the South Korean government and has received support from major international institutions.
Since 2015, ArPara has been held in various venues and at prestigious events, including the Berlin Wall, the Brazilian Paralympic Games in 2016, the United Nations headquarters in Geneva in 2017, the Pyeongchang Paralympic Games in 2018, the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in 2018, the Hangaram Art Museum at the Seoul Arts Centre in 2019, the National Asian Cultural Centre in 2020 and the Gwangju Biennale in 2022. This exhibition is in line with the values and ideals of the Olympic Games, which symbolise solidarity and integration of the five continents. It unfolds as a magnificent journey, aimed at promoting a healthy community through the transformative power of art, with the promise of continuing the journey into the future.
